Eventide Communications began in 1971 in Little Ferry, New Jersey, as a broadcast audio recording company focused on reliable, continuous audio capture for radio stations. Our initial mission was to create technology that ensured every word and sound was recorded precisely, establishing the foundation for today’s leadership in mission-critical recording. As the demand for emergency call recording emerged with the expansion of 911 services in the 1980s, Eventide’s focus shifted, and we introduced solutions designed to document life-saving communications accurately.
In the early 1990s, Eventide developed digital voice logging recorders that allowed public safety agencies, broadcasters, and utilities to store digital audio with improved clarity and longer retention periods. Recognizing the unique needs of public safety and 911 PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points), we pivoted in 2005 to focus on products built specifically for emergency response. With the launch of the NexLog Series in 2012, Eventide introduced recording solutions tailored to the demands of mission-critical operations. By 2021, through continuous innovation, Eventide launched the next-generation recording solution, NexLog DX-Series, to address the evolving digital transformation of the mission-critical recording market. Our current NexLog 740 and 840 DX-Series recorders represent our commitment to Innovative Reliability, becoming essential tools for capturing and managing critical communications across the industry.

In January 2023, Eventide Communications became an independent division within Eventide, supported by a dedicated team led by Brad Basile (COO), Matt Schwartz (CTO), and Mark Traeger (VP of Sales), alongside a team of specialized engineers focused on advancing mission-critical communications technology. Our products are now trusted by over 8,000 organizations, with more than 3,500 installations in PSAPs throughout the U.S., a testament to our commitment to unparalleled reliability and ease of use.
